PROFILE OF MRS. AKHERE FELICITAS IKUENOBE (B.Sc., M.Sc., MBA, PGDE, M.Ed., TRCN, NAEAP)

DIRECTOR, EXAMINATIONS DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (DED)

Mrs. Akhere F. Ikuenobe is presently the Director of Examinations Development Department of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), Headquarters, Benin City, Edo State.

She was born on 5th March, 1964 into the Esangbedo’s family of Igueben, Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State. She had her primary and secondary education in Benin City, at Victory Private School and St. Maria Gorretti Girls College respectively, from 1969 to 1979.  Thereafter she proceeded to the University of Benin from where she obtained a B.Sc.(Biochemistry) in 1983 and then participated in the National Youth Service Corp.  Other degrees she acquired include M.Sc. (Biochemistry), 1986; MBA (1990); PGDE (2005) and M.Ed. (Educational Management), 2013.

She is a member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP).

Akhere Ikuenobe started her career in NABTEB on 22nd June, 2001 as a Principal Research Officer in the then Monitoring, Research and Statistics Department (now Research and Quality Assurance Department). There she rose to the rank of Assistant Director and was redeployed to Examinations Administration Department where she was promoted to Deputy Director. From there she was redeployed to head the Resource Coordination and Service Improvement (RCSI) Department as Director and was further redeployed to head Examinations Development Department.

Mrs. Ikuenobe is a dedicated officer and a recipient of NABTEB Award of Excellence (2015) and has served the Board in sensitive assignments as Coordinator, Production Unit; Head, various Units and Divisions; Member of numerous Committees and representative in various meetings and forums.

She has attended many capacity building programmes – seminars, workshops and conferences and mentored many subordinates. She is a compassionate and dedicated Lady of St. Mulumba (LSM) in the Roman Catholic Church and stands for truth, justice and peace at all times and is happily married with children.  Her hobbies include reading, baking and gardening.
