Mr Mark Eze Ugwoke

Mr Mark Eze Ugwoke (born on 20th November, 1962) is the Director, Research and Quality Assurance Department, National Business and Technical Examinations Board, NABTEB, National Headquarters, Ikpoba Hill Benin City, Edo State. He hails from Umuida, Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria.

Mr Ugwoke who obtained Master of Science (M.Sc) Degree in Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation from Enugu State University of Science and Technology in 2016 is a researcher. He was, also, awarded Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) by the Senate of University of Benin (UNIBEN) in 1995 where he specialized in Financial Management. He secured admission into University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 1984 and obtained Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physics/Education in 1988 with Second Class Honours, Upper Division. Again, he attended the prestigious St. Teresa’s College, Nsukka from 1978 to 1983 where he obtained West African School Certificate.

Ugwoke was elevated to the position of Director of Research and Quality Assurance Department, National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) on 1st January, 2017. Prior to his elevation to this position, he was the Deputy Director and South East Zonal Coordinator of the Board, Enugu from 2009 to 2017. He was deployed from the Text (now Examinations) Development Department of the Board to Awka, Anambra State to open a Zonal Office for Enugu and Anambra States in 2003 through 2009. He secured appointment with NABTEB as a Senior Test Development Officer on 1st April, 1996. He worked as subject specialist (Physics) and also served as a foundational member of Test Production Team (TPT) at the Board’s National Headquarters. Before joining the services of the Board, Ugwoke was employed as Education Officer (Physics) by the Governing Board of University of Benin Demonstration Secondary School in 1991 where he taught Physics. He began his career as Education Officer (Physics) with the Federal Ministry of Education in 1989 while he served in Imo State under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Scheme in 1988

He is happily married and computer literate, a team player and a mentor. He has good numerical and organizational skills and likes to use statistics to analyze events. He has obtained numerous awards from within and outside the Board and is a member of Science Teachers’ Association of Nigeria, M(STAN), and a Member of Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria, M(TRCN).
