NABTEB records success in conduct of March 2020 Modular Trade Certificate exams in 4 states

The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has successfully conducted its March 2020 Modular Trade Certificate (MTC) examinations in the four pilot states of Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano and Katsina.

The examination which took place on Wednesday, 18th and Thursday, 19th March, 2020 was for the third cohort of MAFITA beneficiaries in the aforementioned states.

Prior to the examination, a pre-assessment training for standardisation of marking guides/checklists was conducted simultaneously for all assessors, also known as practical examiners in each of the four pilot states by Team Leader(s) on Tuesday, 17th March, 2020.

The NABTEB Registrar/Chief Executive, (Prof.) IfeomaIsiugo-Abanihe’s opening remark was delivered by the Board’s Director, Research and Quality Assurance, Mr. Mark Ugwoke, at the pre-assessment training in Kano.

A total of 10,301 beneficiaries took the examinations in which 287 assessors were engaged. Seventy one of these assessors led by the Registrar/Chief Executive monitored the examination in Kano. Besides, eight stakeholders participated in the monitoring exercise. It was observed that there was general improvement across all states in terms of centres readiness for the examination, just as most assessors were observed to have done their work creditably.
